Position Summary
As Sous Chef at Pixie Italian, you’ll play a key role in bringing our coastal take on Italian dining to life. Working closely with the Head Chef, you’ll lead by example in the kitchen. From running a section and mentoring junior chefs to ensuring every plate leaves the pass with consistency and care.

We’re looking for someone who thrives in a high-energy environment, keeps a cool head under pressure, and has a genuine love for good food and hospitality. A background with Italian flavours is a bonus, but above all we value leadership, reliability, and a team-first attitude.

About You

• 3+ years’ experience in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen (essential)
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with a calm approach under pressure
• Positive, team-oriented attitude when working with both BOH and FOH staff
• Reliable, punctual, and committed to maintaining high standards
• Familiarity with Italian ingredients and techniques is a bonus, but not essential

Key Responsibilities

• Uphold Pixie Italian’s standards for food quality, presentation, service, and cleanliness
• Assist the Head Chef in training and developing junior kitchen staff
• Communicate effectively with both back- and front-of-house teams to ensure smooth service
• Ensure compliance with food safety practices and all relevant regulations
• Contribute to strong results in regular kitchen audits and inspections
• Work collaboratively with the wider kitchen team to ensure efficiency and contribute to the overall success of the venue
• Support the Head Chef in monitoring food costs, liaising with suppliers, and adjusting GP as required
